Celebrating Women: Tina Rowse

Celebrating Women: Tina Rowse

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the women who are integral to our operations.

Tina Rowse
Procurement & Logistics Administrator

Tina has worked in the HVAC industry for over 35 years and has been with AIRCARE Ltd. since April 2009 when Arctic Airconditioning & Refrigeration Ltd merged with AIRCARE.

Tina’s experience has included everything from dispatch, ordering, payroll, HR, payables, receivables, and monthly financials, but she is now dedicated to the stores department and is responsible for procurement and logistics having implemented two new inventory systems.

Tina enjoys digging into a problem where something has gone wrong and figuring out the issue and resolving the problem. While Tina says the industry is male dominated, this hasn’t been an issue and says that the AIRCARE team is very knowledgeable and dedicated and she enjoys working with her colleagues. Tina sees her strengths as understanding all aspects of the business and recognising and appreciating the importance of every team player and their role in the process.

Tina was born in Bermuda, attended Bermuda High School for girls, hairdressing school in Connecticut, USA, then Bermuda College and has an Associates in Business Management. Family and loved ones are most important to Tina who lives by the mantra that tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone.

Outside of work, Tina enjoys going to the gym, walking and running, Pilates, Muay Thai, shopping with her daughter, home decorating, cruising vacations and summertime boating and drinking wine with friends. When raising her young athletic children, Tina used to spend a lot of time volunteering with the food hut and officiating at swim meets, the Bermuda Bicycle Association and Bermuda Triathlon Association for which she was recognised and awarded for.

One of Tina’s fondest memories was running her very first Bermuda Day Half Marathon just a couple weeks before turning 50 in a time of 2hrs 13mins. She commented: “It was such an amazing experience, the crowds of people out cheering you on the entire route was so uplifting. I loved every moment!”

As far as advice or encouragement for other women looking to get into the HVAC industry, she said: “If you set your sights on getting into the HVAC field, go for it, there is nothing holding a woman back in this industry, although I have always just worked in the administrative roles. I also look forward to seeing where a more sustainable future takes this industry.”

Looking to the future, Tina says she hopes to still be working at AIRCARE for the next 10+ years and then enjoying more travel and maybe a growing family into retirement and volunteering.
